Honestly, I probably should be...but I'm not really at all...

Hey all,

My mom is participating in the Walk to Empower, a Breast Cancer awareness and support walk taking place in 16 cities across the US on Mother's Day.  She experienced a breast cancer scare herself.  My grandmother had a mastectomy because her breast cancer was so widespread.  My great-grandmother died of lung and breast cancer.  Given these family odds, it is also highly likely that I will at least have a scare, if not develop the disease, at some point in my lifetime.  I have also seen it affect the neighborhood kids and my family in yet one more dimension, as one of my mom's closest friends nearly passed away as she battled breast cancer. 

I'm asking that you make whatever contribution you can.  Even if you can only give $2, it's $2 more to make sure that those fighting the disease, their loved ones and caregivers, survivors and anyone affected is supported.  Please visit her website and give as much or as little as you can manage.

I had the pleasure of going to a professional conference in DC.  Unfortunately, I haven't gotten much sleep and am therefore getting sick...but it was fun!  It's good to be home.

Daylight Savings Time started at 2:00 a.m. today. What's your favorite thing about having more light later in the day?

I like that it means I get more sunlight....which means more vitamin D...which is a huge contributor to happy hormones.  So I'm in a better mood all the time.
